This alphabet book creates very simple alliterations of the use of each letter. There is an example of upper and lower case letters as well as examples of many objects that start with each letter, beyond what the text describes. Each sentence is an alliteration and starts with a name of a child who is doing something associated with that letter "Darla draws dogs", which helps reinforce multiple uses of each letter.

I really like the alliteration in this book which makes reinforcement of the use of each letter fun and obvious. The illustrations are fun and full of movement. The names of children are multicultural, which I appreciate, although some of the associated illustrations are stereotypical. Children would have fun playing detective while looking for all of the other objects (not mentioned in the text) that start with the letter on each page. There are at least 3 - 5 additional objects for each letter. ( )

This is a fun alphabet book that for each letter shows a child, an animal and an action that all start with that letter. Example: "Pasquale Paints with the Panda". The paper cut out illustrations are simple, yet interesting in texture and color. The children vary widely in ethnicity and their names are uncommon, making the book fresh and diverse. ( )
