In a future world where children as young as six can be pawned, seventeen-year-old Tilly Breedlove’s father is relinquishing custody of her in exchange for cash to pay off his debts. Tilly becomes the property of Family Trade and Loan and the company promptly dispatches her to the Moon where she will spend her time entertaining miners at Tranquility Harbor to work off the debt her father has incurred.

Although there are a couple of unexpected plot twists as the story unfolds, readers will find this an easily predictable tale. Some thoughtful editing would address the spelling and grammatical errors that bounce the reader out of the story.

Readers should take note: graphic descriptions and situations make this book inappropriate for all but the very oldest of the Young Adult reader group. ( )

“This was a solidly written tale with a trace of fantasy and complex thought used in defining the concept of leaping from one time gate to the next—excellent job of structuring.”
Terrie G, Bitten by Books, 4 out of 5.

“The War Gate is a captivating book. Mystery, magic and the paranormal blend together in a perfect mix. I would thoroughly recommend this book to fantasy enthusiasts who also like romance.
