These scraps by Edwina C. Geach are beautiful little things in their way ... Read "The Sea Along the Cliff," "The Choir Along the Shore," "Before the Altar," and others; indeed, read the whole book. It is scrappy, but there is good stuff in it.

... the seashore and woodland scenery of Australia is drawn with the rare touch of affection and insight. The editors should be thanked for giving to the world this memorial of an unworldly and compassionate spirit.

Few Australian writers have got nearer to Nature than she did, and her fables and allegories are all full of deep and rich thought; so are the charming storiettes and pen pictures which are given—some quite gems in their way.

... graceful and gracefully achieved little sketches ... Most of them are very short, as delicately finished things should be, and all will repay the reader who longs for the touch of poetic insight vouchsafed but to the few.
