As much fun as it can be to read about a sub learning how to submit, I find I like the few books I have found about a Dom learning how to master someone at least as much. And 'Training Michael' is a prime example of a master, Michael, trying to figure out how to be a Dom without hurting or disappointing his sub, PJ. The dynamics between these two are fascinating, as well as very, very hot. Both of them are sure they want the other, and both of them are desperate to do this right.

PJ is head-over-heels in lust with Michael, but hasn’t got the courage to do anything about it. That is unusual, since he is normally very forward and doesn't shy back from a challenge. But he senses that this one is different. PJ also has doubts that Michael can be the Dom he's been dreaming about, and those doubts plus some other misunderstandings are almost his downfall.

Michael knows he is a Dom, but he's never done anything about it – other than do research and amass the most amazing collection of sexual toys imaginable. He also wants PJ so badly he can taste it, but how the heck is going to go about it when he has zero experience with actually running a scene? I loved his self-doubts, his need to figure out how to do the right thing for PJ. And the fact that he went to his three experienced Dom friends for advice just made me respect him more. Not that he doesn’t mess up anyway…

Interfering bosses and misunderstandings aside, this book is also full of humor. Add all of that to the depth of the growing feelings involved, and you have a winning combination, If you like books about bratty subs out to get the punishment they feel entitled to, if you're interested in finding out what it may feel like to be a 'beginning Dom' trying to deal with and 'advanced sub', and if you prefer your men hot and sweaty, you will probably like this novella.
