While I haven't read the previous books in this series yet, I wanted to read this one since it's the precursor to the 'Mossy Glenn Ranch' series, which is next on my list. There are some references to what happened before this story, but they are all well explained so that this volume stands pretty well on its own. And quite the hot story it is! With three men, who are total strangers, and quite some animosity against one of them coming from the people in the Texas town it's set in, the events definitely had my attention and I now look forward to an entire series with these men!

Carlos is a rough cowboy on the outside, and a dominant man, who occasionally turns into a teddy bear, on the inside. Life hasn't been easy for him, but he is a fighter, even when his now ex-boss assaults him and fires him for wanting to know why the ranch is about to go under. He does the right thing and travels to Texas to let her children know about the problem, only to run into not one, but two hot men who turn out to be as interested in him as he is in them.

Troy is a bartender at The Xxchange and he may not be looking for love, but when Carlos and Will turn up in his life, how can he resist? It starts wit super hot sex in all kinds of more and less public places, but when the emotions deepen, Troy is tempted to ask for what he really needs - only it takes him a long time to get there.

Will, a PI, is the least complicated of the three on the surface, but he has some very dark secrets and has suffered tremendous emotional and physical abuse from his family. Some issues come up in this book, but I suspect there may be more to be revealed in the upcoming sequels. Will's biggest issue here is being seen as "manly" (a stupid notion his awful father has planted in his head), so he has the most trouble admitting his emotions. Physically, he is the most forward of the three, but opening up his heart is another matter.

With how different these three men are in what they want and need, this was an interesting first glimpse at how they might make a menage work. It looks as though they have what it takes - love and determination - but I am sure here will be a few rough patches in their future.

If you like menages and watching three strong, independent men come together, if you enjoy a bit of kink and lots of heat in your romances, and if you're looking for a hot read with interesting characters who still have some issues to sort out, then you will probably like this novel.
