This second book in the Demon Warriors series focuses on the overall storyline and the mystery of who is behind the vanished crystal as well as all the other strange goings on. I liked learning more about the demon world, but missed the closeness to the characters that was so much fun in the first book.

Snooke has dark secrets - but we don't really find out what his problems are until the last third of the book (or I totally missed the details). This made it very hard to understand what was going on, and even though I felt for him, I couldn't connect to him. I also felt as if I was missing large parts of the story.

Kane is a very macho alpha demon, who discovers that he may have a weakness (read: love) for Snooke. In typical demon fashion he first denies his feelings, then doesn't know what to do with them. Luckily, he does get the memo in the end and comes through for Snooke and himself.

If you like stories about badass demons and their somewhat smaller mates who need protection because they constantly get into trouble, you will probably like this book. ( )
