This is dark comedy of a dysfunctional family. A dysfunctional family that consists of four of the world’s best assassins. This is book 2 of a 3 book series, highlights the twins Seth and Olivia McIntosh. I loved the cover and the story. A fast-paced action event with lots of hidden corners. ( )

This second book picks up where the first book leaves off. If you haven't read the first book, do yourself a favor and start off with the first one--it is a great book. You could pick up on the story just fine if you haven't read the first one though. This book centers on the McIntosh twins and their training. Olivia is the hot head and her brother Seth is the more level headed--are they the fabled Fire and Ice that everyone has been waiting for for so many years? Master Roshi is insistent on seeing if they are the famous duo and takes on their training. Olivia especially gives the old master a run for his money with lots of action and plenty of laughs. Olivia is also given the special assignment to guard the upcoming council ruler, a crazy teen that is too much like Olivia herself, and the two seem to get into too much trouble. But these are not ordinary girls--they are specially trained to take care of themselves, and the bad guys better watch out when these two are out on the town! This book is filled with the outrageous action, humor and shocks that Pennington puts in his books that keeps you gasping or shaking your head and laughing our loud. The Charon family is a great series and I love all the books in this trilogy. ( )
