Some of the poems included in this slim volume are quite provocative, but I must admit I did not particularly enjoy the several about "Free Will." Guess I'm not an afficionado of billiards. However, some brought a pleasant smile:

THE EASY WAY OUT
is not always prudent:
nerves that puppet us
by habit
to dance the same tired show
can also strangle
with a little tightening...
Like the time I tangled with Kant
and got caught
in a web of "oughts."
I almost choked.
I still have a little cough.
The next time I meet dialectic
(Marx, Hegel, Freud, Aquinas)
I'll know all the ropes
and a few of the slipknots.
If you have a choice
between swallowing a pill
or a camel, be careful:
The pill may go down easier;
but at least if you swallow the camel,
you know you're stuck
with a hump on your back. ( )
