This was a fun read! And I hope to get a copy or two for various folks for Christmas.

A nice overview of the early history of wine-making in Maryland, the obstacles faced by early colonists, and reasons why the industry never quite matched the hopes and expectations of various people. Then the explosion that happened under the careful tending of Philip and Jocelyn Wagner in the modern era and the founding of the original Boordy vineyards. Once the book gets to the Wagners, it really hits its stride, but by the time one gets to the 80s it becomes a bit of a puff-piece for the "established" industry. Nonetheless, a fun read, well-written, and very insightful for those curious about Maryland wines.
