I received the book from Netgalley.

Unfortunately, it couldn't pull me in, and I decided to drop it, instead of ending up giving it a low rating. It was very slow, and it didn't sound interesting in the first 50-60 pages - which in my opinion are the most important.

When last we met Kate, she was dealing with discovering that she was different from other people. Very different. Kate is in fact a Seer, a person able to see auras. She can use this ability to help the Guardians, a group of immortals who chose to help those still on Earth rather than go to Heaven, to find the Demons that are causing problems for people. After falling in love with her Guardian Patrick, Kate is now more ready to face the school year. As one would expect though, Kate's life is still not safe. The evil Demon Lord is after her, and she needs to find out why. When the acts of the Demon Lord puts everything she holds dear in danger, Kate is faced with some extremely difficult decisions. Will she have to sacrifice herself to save those she loves?

I really enjoyed the first book, so I was looking forward to reading this one. I was not let down. In fact, I think this book exceeded my expectations. It managed to be tense, romantic, scary, and hopeful all at once. The story took some twists that I did not see coming, and the ending was such a cliffhanger! I'm trying to avoid any spoilers in this review, because there are a lot of things that need to be read. That makes it more difficult to write this though. I have so many things to say about particular things that happened. There is one particular theme that I felt was touched on so amazingly, but I won't say more in the interest of not ruining the book for anyone. Just know that there are a lot of great things in there.

It's always fun to rejoin characters you enjoyed before, and this book is no exception to that. Kate is still a worthy heroine. She's not one to just sit back and let things happen to her. Kate wants to take charge, and she is willing to do whatever it takes. In this book in particular, Kate gets to be the one who makes the decisions to try and save the day. I love when a female gets to be the rescuer instead of the rescuee. The rest of the characters are fun as well. There's teenage drama and supernatural drama, so there's plenty of fun for everyone. While I really enjoyed the first book, this book was even better. People definitely need to check this one out. It gets really intense towards the end, so much so that my heart was racing for several chapters. If you liked the first book, this one will be even better. If you didn't read the first book, do it and then grab this one. It is totally worth it.

Demons pretty much picks up where Seers left off and it focuses more on the demons. Well sort of. We see more of the demons in this one as well as some new seers.

In Demons we see the relationship between Patrick and Kate further and it's a very tamed, innocent and sweet thing to see. Patrick is quite the gentleman! We see more of Kate and Lee's friendship and is it just me or does Lee remind anyone else of Harper from Wizards of Waverley Place? There's a lot more scenes with Kate and her family as well. The twins are still... well annoying twins. We also see a very sweet friendship blossom between Kate and Aaron.

Kate is still being tracked down by the Demon Lord and Selena is still being a dumb %!&@$. Oh and Kate is still being self sacrificing which really isn't a cute trait. I get that you know, some serious stuff goes down with Patrick but really she needs to explore more options beside just serving herself up on a pretty silver platter. Also Toni wasn't as funny as he was in the first book. We get a glimpse of Patrick's life before he was a guardian and it was interesting.

I don't have that many thoughts or opinions on this book. And I really hate when that happens. To be honest the beginning was sort of slow and there's a bunch of drama that happens but it isn't until the end when things get really intense and good. The last chapter especially!! OMGOSH! There are a few twists and turns that made me gasp with surprise and yes, I'll be looking forward to the third book too. But that beginning, man was it slow! Also it bothered me *spoiler spoiler spoiler*.

I really hate when I don't have a strong opinion about a book, because then my reviews look like this... all monotone lol. Oh and the guy in the cover? He's going to blow your mind!! ( )

I started reading this book before realizing it was the second in a trilogy. Although I was able to follow it, I decided to go back and read the first one (Seers) first. So glad I made this choice, because I was able to enjoy the story even more.

I found Demons to be a fast paced, enjoyable story that continued to shock me throughout. I often find books predictable and unoriginal but I would use neither of those words for this story - I was constantly caught off guard. Add to that the continued development of the characters you come to know and love in Seers and you won't want to put it down.

The ending was an absolute cliffhanger, which I loved - it doesn't leave everything neat and tidy, it definitely ensures you will want to continue reading the third book.

Well written, interesting, I loved every minute.

STOP! If you have not read the first book in this series, you will not understand this book at all. So, turn around, go back, get the first one and READ IT! Because you will not be disappointed!

Kate is not a normal teenager; she's a seer. She can see auras and she knows what people are feeling because of this. This also means she can tell the difference between Guardians and Demons. And her boyfriend, Patrick, he's far from "normal." He's immortal, and he's her protector. In this sequel to Seers (Seers #1), Kate and Patrick are on a mission to find out why Kate is the focus of the Demon Lord. And what they find is, well, not what they might expect at all.

Let's start with the cover, I love it. It so portrays Patrick, who is really the ultimate focus of this book. And once you read this book, you totally understand why the cover HAD to be this way. I love the blue color. However, this cover could be someone else, who will remain nameless so as not to spoil it!

The characters continue to be well developed and I really connected to them, wanting to go through the story with them. Certainly, the love between Kate and Patrick grows and blossoms into a real relationship. They go through a lot together in this book and that just serves to help solidify their relationship, making it even stronger. Kate is strong, even stronger than in the first book. And she's very determined, sometimes to her own detriment. I still love Toni and he remains my favorite character by far. He's funny and to the point. Nothing gets by him. He's snarky and smart and he totally steals the show! And Lee remains the ever present loyal friend. The extraneous characters kept me on my toes for sure. I also meet a few new characters in this book: Demons, the Demon Lord, and some new Seers. And people I didn't expect to have any abilities or even be present popped up and surprised me.

The storyline of this book is really great. It takes the Demon/Guardian/Seer relationship even further than I thought possible. There are so many plot twists and turns, I was not sure where I would end up, which kept me wanting to read to find out what happens. I do have to say the first half of the book is a little slower than I would have liked. There was a definite need for the build up, I just feel things were a bit repeated. And, while I understand having to recap the prior book a bit so people can remember what happened, I think it was a bit overdone. It took me longer to read this book than the first because of these facts. However, the book did tug on my emotions and captured my heart. I found myself crying many times, which I was not expecting at all. And of course I was laughing, as well, which certainly served to balance out everything that was happening. There is a ton of depth to this book which I was not expecting. The end certainly left me with a cliff hanger. It was intense and left me wanting the third book NOW.

As with the first book, I loved Heather's writing style. She certainly does not write like an author who is newly published. Her descriptions and clean, crisp and precise. Frost writes realistic characters. And there are many jaw dropping moments that have you wondering where the plot will even lead or if it can go anywhere at all. Frost helped me connect with this book in ways I did not think possible. This series is definitely on it's way to becoming one of my all time favorites! Awesome job Ms. Frost!
