A few plots tied up too nearly, others will wait for the sequel(s). Equal parts Downton Abbey and those teen books where all the characters seem to hate each others from the way they gossip. Surprisingly few eyeroll moments. Overall, I enjoyed this one. ( )

This book is pure fluff. It's Downton Abbey for young adults, but I can't deny that it's an enjoyable read. ( )

It was...alright. It just wasn't what I was expecting. I thought it was going to be a lot more queer than it ended up being. Not generally a period drama reader, but it was pretty good in it's portrayal of the time. ( )

Take every plot point from Downton Abbey, make it incredibly stupid, and you have Cinders & Sapphires . The gay valet and master; the conniving, evil lady's maid; the sweet and loyal lady's maid; the foreign lover; the innocent valet being accused of murder (although are we still really positive that Mr. Bates was innocent?); and the list goes on and on. It took every bit of will-power to not quit reading this. I really wouldn't recommend it to anyone. ( )
