Some of the details of some of the pieces are getting dated already, but the quality really is high - and only one out of 29 that was too technical for non-technical me. ( )

Light reading that provides insight into the experiences of other software professionals. This book is worth reading, but not on my list of "must haves". The book is a collection of "articles". I use quotes because most content is simply a reprint of blog entries. Interesting and often entertaining, but they lack the quality and depth of articles appearing in peer reviewed publications. ( )

A good, but not great, collection of software development articles. Good, mostly light, reading for software professionals. Many of the articles seem to be chosen because of the quality of the articles rather than the depth of content. Given the generally awful writing that is the norm in software development, this is not such a bad thing. ( )
