I used to really enjoy this series and always read them as soon as they came out, but the ninth book in the series, Vision Impossible was so... ridiculous, it really put me off the newer books, even after reading and enjoying #10. Which means this one languished on my TBR for over 3 years before I finally forced myself to pick it up yesterday.

Boy I'm glad I did; it was really good. I didn't realise it was a cross-over book that included the MC from her other series (which has since ended), and it worked really well. The book begins with Abbey coming to consciousness on her wedding day to discover a bomb strapped to her chest, the latest victim of a serial killer. From here the book switches between dual timelines and POV's: Abbey's and M.J.'s.

Normally I'd hate this, but it really worked here. Abbey's POV is the flashback to what led to her being strapped to a bomb, and M.J.'s POV is present tense, trying to find Abbey and the killer before time is up. It's tense and it's gripping.

Victoria Laurie herself is a professional psychic, so the paranormal aspect of the storytelling is handled realistically; it never gets so far out there that it becomes difficult to suspend disbelief. There was at least one small error of logic, and I often twitched about Abbey's high level of internal emotional drama, but overall I couldn't wait to pick it back up again.

This is good news, because I still have two other books in the series to read sitting on my pile. And now I'm much more optimistic about tackling them. ( )

I really like this series and the fact she put two series characters together in this book was fun. Not enough Gilly though but he was fun to read about. This book was a fast read a few evenings and I had it done. Looking forward to more from her. ( )

Deadly Forecast is the eleventh book in the A Psychic Eye series, and the first to bring Abby Cooper and M. J. Holliday from The Ghost Hunters series together.

When Abby and Dutch began their relationship and the books became more on the "thriller" side, I longed for the old days. But now I am happy with the exciting aspect these books have taken. This books switches from a couple hours before the wedding to the very recent past and the case of a serial bomber that Dutch and Abby, as a FBI consultant, have been working on.

With less than a month till her wedding, Abby has a vision where she Dutch being killed just before the big day. When Dutch is called out to beauty shop where a suicide bomber has detonated their bomb, Abby tails him to make sure that he stays safe. When Abby is finally allowed into the shop, she has a vision of what the bomber looked like and also connected with the owner, Rita, who was killed in the blast.
With this information a sketch artist is able to make a drawing of the young lady wearing the bomb and soon hear from the mother who has seen the drawing broadcast. Dutch and Abby also stop by Rita house and talk with her teenaged son. Hopefully with this information they will be able to find the person responsible for making the bombs before anymore lives are lost.

Also in Deadly Forecast, Abby and River's wedding is just a couple hours away when they realize that Abby has gone missing. Abby has found a note, supposedly from Dutch, to meet him at their house as he has something special for her. But instead the serial bomber takes her hostage. When Dutch and Candace get to the house they find M.J, and her assistant Gilly overcome be some type of noxious gas. The clock is ticking as they race to find Abby.

Will be waiting to read the next book in this exciting series. ( )
