More believable than their other books, it traces the switch from Templar to Lodge and talks about early Freemasonry in a scholarly way. They do this without recourse to their theories that connected to the Templars via a tenebrous Priory of Sion. This book instead shows the very real connections between Knights Templar and early Freemasonry, and how the Masons used quasi-Enlightenment ideals to shape the United Kingdom and United States. ( )
