She writes well, and presents not only her perspective on various readings, but the impressions of her clients as well. It's clear that she's a very nice woman, but her book left me flat. Ms Dubois and some of her former clients share their stories - there are chapters on lost children, lost spouses, loved ones lost to murder and suicide. I didn't doubt her for a minute, but I felt like she was trying to win me over the whole time. This is her second book - perhaps her first book has more of what I was looking for - the nitty gritty of what it's like, how the dead "come through"- yet even while I'm writing this I feel like she did address this. I suppose I would have preferred, then, that she lump these things together instead of scattering them one sentence at time through the book.
