The diary shares the feelings of Valerie Larch, 15, from thinking she is pregnant to deciding to give the child up for adoption. By the time Valerie finally takes a pregnancy test it is too late to have an abortion. Her boyfriend Peter says they will get married and raised the baby together but he is sent away to live with his father. Valerie must then decide either to raise the baby alone or give the baby up for adoption. This book gives a realistic picture of what choices young teenage mothers face.
