I picked up this book by the cover and I was in love!! this book made me remember so much of greek myth and I'm currently in greek myth so it was such a fun book to read. ( )

I see where you are going with this, FLB, and I can't bear it. Too dark, too desperately infused with Odysseus' wanderings, too real and too dreamlike. I got through the first disk and couldn't go on. Maybe if I try it in print.

This book was a trip. Not a happy one. A very dark story of a girl trying to find her family after the world ends and there are cannibalistic giants roaming the wasteland that used to be Earth. Loosely based off of the Odyssey. I probably would have enjoyed this more if the world wasn't so awful right now. ( )

This one was intriguing enough to keep me reading. that's about it though. I didn't really invest in any of the characters. ultimately won't be continuing with this series. ( )

Epigraph
Oh my child, ill-fated beyond all other mortals,
this is not Persephone, daughter of Zeus, beguiling you,
but it is only what happens when they die, to all mortals.
The sinews no longer hold the flesh and the bones together,
And once the spirit has left the white bones, all the rest
Of the body is made subject to the fire's strong fury,
But the soul flitters out like a dream and flies away.
