I admit to not being a big Sci-Fi fan. Star Trek is about the extent of my interest dealing with anything science fiction. However something about this book just caught my attention.
This was a very interesting quick read. A true page turner that will keep readers wanting more. As most others reviewers stated a classic with modern twist.
Thanks for such an interesting read.
The bunnies and I give this book 4 carrots.

This book will bring up some good memories from your childhood :)
A fantasy and science fiction crossroad such as a smoothie of Peter Pan, Men in Black and Star Treck with a touch of IT super hero.
The more you read and the more you get emotionally involved with the characters.
A good book to distract your mind from your daily life! ( )

A very well written young adult science fiction novel. As numerous other reviewers mentioned it was a little hard to relate to some of the characters having not read the previous 10 books, but overall the writing style and plot line were impressive. I also enjoy the "Count of Monte Cristo" tie ins. ( )

Science fiction is riddled with the concept of the gifted boy. These little guys tend to possess a special trait that is the key to unlock humanity’s salvation. In The Boy Who Played with Dark Matter, an incredibly smart kid named Zeddy finds out that his dystopian world is full of untruths pushed by the International Government, an authoritative body that controls the future. His life is turned upside down when his father Zane suddenly disappears one day while walking their dog. Soon after, Zeddy and his mom Zadie are given clues that could lead to answers about the missing physicist. The two embark on a journey that eventually leads Zeddy to self-discovery, and the reality that he can never return home.

At first, I had to get over all the “Z” names. Once I got past that, I realized that this story was pretty good. The action begins immediately. The dialogue flows well. And, the ending leaves you wanting more. The story concept seems original. It would be nice to have more details about this futuristic, Amerasian society, but the author provides enough to give you an idea of how bad things suck. I would say I was impressed this time. This was definitely one of Holy Ghost Writer’s more serious works. And yes, your favorite master of disguise Edmond Dantes is mentioned. The Count of Monte Cristo tie in with all these books should be fascinating. ( )

I found it very difficult to connect to the characters or visualize the world they live in, which is probably due to not having read the other books. Despite that, having read this book gave me no real desire to start from the beginning and give the entire series a shot. As far as YA dystopian fiction goes, I would consider it as a more pre-teen read--a decent introduction to more gritty and relatable dystopian futures. ( )
