Basic Reason for Beginning: Slayers! Okay, I'll admit that I've never actually seen more than a few episodes of the anime, but I liked those. There's a lot of hilarity going on in it.
Basic Reason for Finishing: *shrugs* What else am I going to do on my train ride? (Okay, so I could have picked three other books to read from my bag on my way back, but that is not the point.)
Texture: The narrator is Lina, so cheerfulness abounds, but beneath that it's quite rough and painful.

Full review here.

Rereadability: Nope. Not for me. Don't want to look for the rest of the novels either.
Recommendation: Watch the anime. That may not have the same storyline (wouldn't have a clue), but the world will work much better when you're not given time to think. ( )
