No current Talk conversations about this book. *i was given this book in exchange for an honest review* I usually don't go for romance books, but this book kept my attention though out the whole thing! i could relate to the main character greatly! i longer for her to fill the void we all feel at some point in our lives. the only down side i had was that it ended too quickly, there was a lot of build up and i loved that, i liked how the relationship between her and dave grew. i just really wish there was more to the end. I received a copy of Is This All There Is? by Patricia Mann in exchange for an honest review. This story could be very relatable to many of us. The development of the characters were believable where we saw how the scene was set for a marriage to go off-track. I felt for Beth and for her family, she put herself in a very bad situation where she struggled to ignore her conscience and made everything much worse. This story is very intense, at least for me it was, and it was very scary to see how we can wreck what we have to find some elusive “thing” that we think we need. I loved this book. It was written in Beth’s first person point-of-view. My favorite lines: 1) With every kiss, a rush of emotion followed. Exhilaration. Guilt. Fear. 2) I considered the possibility that Rick wasn’t the enemy. Maybe he had been a convenient scapegoat for my discontent. Beth was married to Rick. One night she went out with her friend; they ended up at a club. The club scene where Dave, Beth’s former student, admitted his crush was so sweet! From there, they had a flirtatious affair. I appreciated the realistic situation in the book. Her friend didn’t support Beth’s emotional cheating on Rick. I liked this because it showed the characters were mature and were held accountable for their actions. I really enjoyed the drama. I RECOMMEND this book to read.
