( ) I was a little put off by the depiction of the volcano-worshiping people (for one thing, do indigenous peoples of long ago belong in the same category as aliens, pirates, talking dinosaurs, and vampires? For another, were the illustrations racist?). Still, you have to be real curmudgeon not to find this amusing. I also really love it when time travel is portrayed correctly (i.e. the "everything always already happened" theory of time travel). I wonder if Mr. Gaiman has read Michael Foreman's picture book [b:Fortunately Unfortunately|9545995|Fortunately, Unfortunately|Michael Foreman|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1320414980l/9545995._SX50_.jpg|14432415], which also features pirates, dinosaurs, volcanoes and aliens, as well as frequent use of the word "fortunately." no reviews | add a review
