The novel opens after her rescue which I assume was covered in the second volume in this trilogy of which this is number three. The rescue was done by her lover, Dr. Jeremy Quinn. Madeleine Jurilique, the CEO of the drug company, attempts threats and backmail to get Blake into her lab for more experiments. Quinn. with the help of a wealthy mysterious friend convinces Blake to undergo a session with a shaman in the Brazilian rain forest which while under the influence of a drug concoction administered by the shaman, she learns the history of her ancesters and her mysterious blood. Some erotica is included although I'm not sure it lives up to the claim on the book cover "that if you liked Shades of Grey, you will like this".
The story line was to far fetched for me. (
