If you’re into overblown drama, then this might be the book for you.

This is book 1 in a series about Billionaires and the women they end up marrying for whatever reason. This book was about Michelle and Erik. And as the title indicates, they have a secret marriage. I won’t get into the reasons why the marriage was a secret, but trust you’ll probably be as disappointed as I was.

Erik and Michelle meet when Michelle is sent from an agency to be a nanny for Erik’s young daughter. Erik is a widower but immediately falls in lust with Michelle. The lusting seems mutual on Michelle’s part as well. When they can’t deny their feelings any longer, they decide to marry in secret. There are secrets and lies (and dead wives) that eventually (and predictably) end them. And really, it all goes downhill from there. How they get a happily ever after, I’ll never know. But they do get their happily ever after. As do his Erik’s father and mothers. Don’t even get me started on that weird little side story. ( )

so glad it was free. it gets 3 stars because i was able to finish it. Who names a child Precious? So many people reading my status updates will wonder why I am giving this 4 stars. So let me go ahead with my reasons first:

♥ While there were some corny lines in the book.. Honestly truly CORNY I loved the storyline.
♥ I loved the characters and Precious gets a star of her own.
♥ I think this story had enough potential even though there were some really strange parts that made no sense that it deserves the stars.
♥ I honestly have no idea why I liked it so much so while I struggle with a star rating I think that if you need something light, with touching and funny moments you should give it a try.

The Doctor’s Secret Bride is another book in the Billionaire Brides of Granite Falls series. I’ve read two books in the series and I’m hard pressed to say I enjoyed one more than the other. Both are well written with detailed and entertaining plots. I loved that the novels are primarily contemporary, interracial romances but there’s some intrigue and/or mystery to be resolved. The Doctor’s Secret Bride and The Mogul’s Reluctant Bride are independent works sure to be favorites with many readers.

Michelle Carter is having a hard time making ends meet after being robbed of her life savings and losing her job. She secures employment as a nanny caring for the daughter of a wealthy doctor. It’s the break Michelle needs to get back on track, if only she can keep her hands and eyes off the sexy doctor. Doctor Erik LaCrosse lost his wife years ago in a car accident and while he has no intentions of remarrying, he’s fiercely attracted to his new nanny. Erik knows he must find out who killed his late wife before he can commit to any kind of relationship. At first, I had a hard time dealing with Erik’s fixation on his late wife but clearly he was unable to move on because the circumstances surrounding her death were unsolved. Michelle is sexy and spunky and I was drawn to her character from the beginning. Her life is filled with mishaps but she doesn’t allow them to keep her down. Erik and Michelle fall into a relationship rather quickly but I believe Erik was ready to move on and only needed the right motivation.
