"A Hero Betrayed" is an erotic science fiction romance by Jan Springer. It's apparently part of a series of books about a world in the future. A world where society has changed beyond all recognition and women rule. Babies are taken from their mothers after birth and separated by sex. Males are raised uneducated and kept only for their seed and women are educated by 'nurturers'. It's illegal to educate or befriend males as they are considered dangerous beasts. Women are punished by being forced to bear male children after being impregnated by machine and once any woman enters menopause, she is sentenced to death. Into this world, three brothers enter via a spaceship crash. The different books in the series tell the story of each of the brothers as they try to survive.

Buck is unlucky enough to be captured by a group of virgins on a 'male hunt'. Tradition requires the virgins to capture, have sex with, then kill the male in order to become an adult. The virgins are excited that they have captured one of the 'speaking males', but as Buck is uncooperative, they drug him with passion poison to send him into a sexual frenzy after which he will die. Buck is rescued by a woman called Virgin. She administers the antidote...24 hours of sex! But it's apparent to Buck that Virgin wants something else...

Interesting premise. Lots of hot sex. Bit of violence. I'd read another in the series, but it won't be at the top of my wishlist. ( )
