A collection of short stories about Pat McNab, who like many a character in a McCabe novel has a very unhealthy relationship with his mother. Each story is based on a movie, channeling Pat's stories of madness and murder. Or is he really piling up a body count instead of imagining it? This book is disturbing but also humorous and easier to read than McCabe's The Butcher Boy. (
