I didn't cotton on to that this book was so short! So it was a bit of a shock when it finished! I have enjoyed the story so far, a unique premise with some mystery which will be revealed in the upcoming episodes I presume. I enjoyed the style of writing, easy to read already feel I know the characters. I look forward to the continuing story.

I enjoyed this, although there was not much of it. it finished on a cliffhanger, making one want to carry on. I like Cege Smith's writing style, not too wordy and exciting and involving. ( )

Gamescape is written as a serial, so we know more of the story will be coming. It is a well written easy to read Serial.

Laney is terminal, she only has days to a couple of weeks to live. She is in a hospital setting. A mysterious, slightly ominous, man comes to her with an offer she will find hard to refuse.

I find myself wanting to keep reading, I have never really read the serials before this and quite enjoyed it. ( )

Laney is dying in Cege Smith‘ GAMESCAPE (SERIAL, EP. 1). With only a few weeks left to live, she is given a reprieve if she agrees to participate in Gamescape, Victor Frank’s pharmaceutical company’s human laboratory. While leery of the contract she is given, what choice does Laney have? She will be dead if she does not agree so what can happen there that could be worse?

Cege Smith has given us a great opening for her GAMESCAPE serial. Her world building is good. She gives us enough information to make us curious, to hook us, but not enough that we know what will happen. Laney is well developed. I knew her and could feel what she felt. I cried as the doctor gives her her final diagnosis. I understood why she broke off her engagement. I could feel the fight in her as she makes her decision to go to Gamescape. We are given a taste of the other characters through Laney’s eyes. How they develop with be interesting to watch.

For a short story, GAMESCAPE (SERIAL, EP. 1) packs quite a wallop. I am intrigued. I want to know more. I will be getting the rest of the episodes. ( )

Gamescape, Episode 1, the first part in a new serial will leave you wanting to read more. Laney, a young woman in the terminal stages of leukaemia is offered the chance of a cure for life if she agrees to take part in the mysterious 'Gamescape'. In order to take up this Faustian offer she must leave her former life, including her fiancé, behind her and move to a secret compound. Exactly wht Gamescape is and what Laney will be expected to do will be revealed in future episodes .....

I received this episode as a free ebook through the Member's Giveaway program. ( )
