Firefighter Dylan Quinn is a love 'em and leave 'em kind of guy, but seeing Meggie Flannigan again makes him reconsider his approach to women. Meggie has never forgotten Dylan, the childhood crush who broker her heart. Now that they have crossed paths again, Meggie seizes the opportunity ... for revenge.
Kate Hoffmann is skilled at putting a lot of information into a limited number of pages. Dylan and Meggie's story is well-paced with a solid backstory and an engaging romance. They have great chemistry and their banter is fun.
The only problem is the revenge trope, which is not a favorite of mine as it often entails annoying keeping secrets and silly misunderstanding issues. Thankfully, Hoffmann keeps these to a minimum and the story is light on the drama and angst.
Overall, a quick and cute read for a Friday evening at home. (
