When Erin Radkey gets into a fiery car accident that should have killed her, her whole life changes. She learns that she is a sort of super human called Unbounded, and she can only die one way: dissection.
She must let everyone believe she died, and forsake her entire life to follow her new "friends". Ava, who claims to be an ancestor of Erin's. Ritter, which Erin can't help but feel an attraction to. Stella and Lawrence and Dimitri also calling their group the Renegades.
The unbounded are in a fight for survival against another group of Unbounded: the Emporium, and humans calling themselves Hunters which know about the Unbounded.

I liked this book, although it wasn't much of a thought provoking read. The plot was cool, the characters were likable, and the writing style was good. ( )

4.5 stars.

Excellent story. Fast paced and gripping. Unbounded are sort of like vampires but without the blood drinking. They heal fast. Right away readers are pulled into the change Erin is experiencing. Totally amazing.

Erin is an astounding character. She always seems to know what to do. Not really flawed, but likable nonetheless. She had great dynamics going between several characters. I actually don't know whether I liked her with Ritter or with Cort or Keene.

Reader Rated for ages 14 for moderate violence and mild sensuality. ( )

Erin Radkey is a law-school dropout who discovers that her life isn't going to go the way she planned when she;s involved in a terrible accident and survives. She discovers that, while not immortal, she's close to that, very long-lived and that she's caught between two factions with a third hunter-group looking to kill all of her kind. She discovers secrets and lies and a lot of complicated life-issues that are going to affect her family and friends and finding out who her real friends are is going to make her life interesting.

Bitty in places and lacked flow, it wasn't a bad setup for a series but I wanted more from it. ( )

Erin is something called Unbounded and even she doesn’t know it, until a tragic accident happens and she is taken from the only family she knows. As she tries to figure out who she is, she also has to decide whose side to take in an Unbounded war. She has no idea what to do, and the only thing she can do is trust her instincts. Unfortunately, she makes a few missteps and puts her entire family in danger and has to, not only protect herself, but them too.

I couldn’t put this one down. I liked Erin, she has a lot of courage, and never backs down, even if she doesn’t have the skill to put it to the test. She fights for her family, and the people she loves, even when she maybe shouldn’t. Each Unbounded has their own special power, usually it’s just an acceleration of normal behavior. An aptitude for science, or math, for example (imagine the life and world changing things they can create) As Erin tries to figure out who the good guys are, she is also learning her new ability and finding out things about herself she didn’t think possible.

There is a romance going on as well, and although it feels doomed from the start, that doesn’t stop Erin from following her heart and her gut.

I love a book full of non-stop action and so many twists and turns, that I couldn’t put it down. I had to keep reading to see what would happen. Can’t wait to read the rest in the series.

It all starts out normally until a car t-bones hers and then Erin watches her best friend burn to death before feeling the flames take her own flesh. What happens next turns her life upside down and drags her through conspiracies, genetic modification, and betrayals.

A page turner. There never seems be a place where the reader gets to relax. Running from one revelation to the next betrayal, we read in fascination as Erin decides which group of strangers are the good guys, in a world were good guys don’t match her perception.

I recommend this to anyone who likes a world shaking conspiracy with their science fiction. ( )

Book description
No Second Chances. Death, Life, or Love—Unbounded Always Play for Keeps.

There are only two ways to kill Unbounded, and fire isn’t one of them—as law school dropout Erin Radkey learns the hard way. By fluke of a recessive gene, she has become Unbounded, a nearly immortal being with paranormal abilities.

Erin’s Change separates her from her loved ones and alters everything she believes to be true. A week earlier she was considering a marriage proposal; now she contemplates the best way to stay alive. Caught in a battle between two Unbounded groups, she is also hunted by a secret mortal society sworn to eradicate the Unbounded gene.

As Erin plunges into this dangerous new life, she must carve out her own place in the madness, protect her mortal family, and decide which group she should join. Her unique ability is vital to both groups in the race to secure an identification software that spells death for all Unbounded—or enslavement for the entire mortal world. Some will stop at nothing to use Erin as one more pawn in a battle that has spanned centuries. Erin’s undeniable attraction to Ritter Langton, whose family was massacred by opposing Unbounded two hundred and forty years ago, complicates her choices. There are no second chances. Death, life, or love—Unbounded always play for keeps.
