A temporary telephone directory with names and telephone numbers of Commwealth Telephone Company subscribers in the Elizabethville and Lykens dial exchange. The newly established "exchanges" requiring 7-digit dialing included:

EN = Endicott (Elizabethville)
FO = Foxcroft (Gratz)
GL = Glendale (Lykens)

Calls to the stated exchanges from any phone within the exchange could be directly dialed with the two-letter exchange designation and the old five-digit number. For calls to Millersburg, subscribers had to dial "692" and give the number to the operator. For calls to Williamstown and Tower City, subscribers had to dial "64" and give the number to the operator. Calls to Halifax could be directly dialed from the Elizabethville-Gratz-Lykens exchange by using the prefix "TW" (for Twinbrook) and the old five-digit number.

The "Foxcroft" exchange included Gratz Borough, Spring Glen, Erdman, and Lykens Township,

The "Endicott" exchange included Elizabethville, Matterstown, Enterline, Berrysburg, Fisherville, Pillow, Curtin, Loyalton, Rife, Carsonville.

The "Glendale" exchange included Lykens Borough, Wiconisco, Coaldale, Big Run, and Glen Heights.

Street names are included with subscribers names and phone numbers, except in the smaller communities where only the name of the community is given. Some emergency phone numbers are also included, but generally required contacting the operator.
