This book broke my heart but it was well worth it. Reading this book I felt so many emotions and those emotions I felt so strong.

The story grabbed my interest from the start, however; and had me in its grip until the very end. That's not always easy to do, even by a work from one of my favorite tried-and-true authors. The characters are well defined and the story masterfully crafted. Mickel E. Millard is an excellent writer; which is all too much of a rarity these days.

The faith and forgiveness aspect is well-balanced and adds richness to the mystery storyline. With raw emotion, sharp dialogue and fast-paced suspense, Millard grabs his readers and does not let go until the very end. ( )

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 098830080X, Paperback)

On April 23, 1971, fourteen-year-old Mickel s mother, Roberta (Howe) Millard, was murdered by her estranged husband. It was the culmination of years of violence and abuse. From that day on, for thirty years, Mickel's life spun out of control as his unresolved anger led to alcoholism, broken marriages, and trouble with the law. Just when all hope was lost and he was in total despair, Mickel surrendered his life to the Lord. Through Ephraim's Grit Ministries, Mickel and his wife Marcia share the message of hope and healing to churches, prisons, women's abuse centers and other organizations involved in helping the victims of domestic abuse.
