This book chronicles how a small selection of miniatures from film and TV were created, from original concept idea to final production. There are over 180 detailed photographs and illustrations that along with articles written by some of the industries leading modelmakes make this an interesting and enlightening glimpse into a side of the industry that is all to often overlooked.

The articles include:

-The building of Space Precinct's Hopper
-So you want to build a talking head?
-The genesis of DSV Alvin
-The battle to beef up the Precinct Cruiser
-The making of the Nostromo and Narcissus
-Creating the Time Trax Police Car
-The evolution of the Star Trek Tricorders
-Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea's Flying Sub

I purchased this book back in 1997 when it was first promoted through Sci-fi & Fantasy Modeller magazine. I've not seen it anywhere since; but, if you are interested in making props or models this would make a nice addition to your book shelf.
