Grace Wentworth arrived in the small town of Dry Springs, Texas after receiving notice her aunt had passed away and left her as sole heir. She had loved the woman but she had stubbornly refused to live with her in Philadelphia, and similarly said no to living in Texas with her.

Logan Barnett knew that the woman the town’s sheriff and his lawyer pal escorted down the street was more than just a random visitor. He needed to know if she had a hand in his father’s death or not. Something told him that finding out who killed Tom Barnett was connected to that woman. Trying to get the woman to talk to him was harder than he expected. Accosting her in her room and abducting her after knocking her out wasn’t something he had thought he would do but he needed answers. Grace needed her own answers and talking to the man who abducted her might be the only way to get them. Someone killed both Aunt Lily and Tom, and that someone was still a threat.

This book delivered more than I was expecting for my afternoon read, from brothels to betrayals, and sinful delights to gun fights. Tom and Grace are thrown together, caught in the mayhem that awaits them after finding loved ones dead, as well as by the combustible spark that ignites a passion that brings them to fight for both love and for their lives. Definitely deserving of a mention in this months Recommended Reads, their tale of loss and love swept me away.
