Where There’s Smoke – The Men of 3X CONStruction by Erosa Knowles is a great ending to The Men of 3X CONStruction series and is as entertaining as the previous novels. Smoke and Vianca’s attraction is instantaneous and her liberated attitude in bed leads to some pretty hot sex scenes. Smoke is a master in the bedroom and Vianca is a lucky woman having all that goody to herself. Again the story details much of the happenings in prison life from gangs and their affiliations. The plot to destroy them is very twisted and much happens in this last installation but Ms. Knowles makes it all clear before the end. Smoke and Vianca’s falling in love among all the chaos is beautiful. Vianca is filled with prejudices that Smoke and his friends immediately dispel with their love and commitment to each other. It is great to watch the hard men go all soft on their women.

Again, readers should read these novels in sequence because it makes more sense that way. Where There’s Smoke is the final novel in the series. Smoke is now the target of the unknown enemy trying to destroy the company. He is abducted, beaten and left in the hotel room of two dead hookers to take the fall for their murders. Vianca Marino, a private investigator doing surveillance work, sees what really happened and rescues him. Vianca requests Smoke’s protection until her case goes to trial but Smoke can’t guarantee she’ll be any safer with him because he has enemies. Vianca and Smoke are immediately attracted to each other and with neither being the commitment type, they enjoy hot and heavy sex without complications. Eventually the three friends unravel the plot to destroy them. Ross, Red and Smoke’s futures are bright with the company back on track and women in their lives that are partners and equals in every sense. With no more threat to Vianca, she can move on. However, this is the first time she’s had a problem saying goodbye and to her surprise, commitment phobic Smoke doesn’t want her to leave either.
