Space Viking and Mercenary seem to also be memories from this period, all books read many times since then. The last of the books from my earliest memories is Hospital St ... ... two I would not want to see as movies.
Little Fuzzy would be a good movie ala ET. And Lord Kalvan of Otherwhen or Space Viking for us adults but in a Star Wars kind of way Space Viking review:

This is the sort of science fiction I like best. It's got people flying around in hyper space, looting planets, and some cool stuff. very nice. ... than I've seen in any other library. I own a few - two Calders and a Cunningham. Someday I'll have them all.
Also 105) Space Viking by H. Beam Piper. I was looking at Federation for a discussion in The Last Cavalier group, and read John D. Carr's introduction in which he mentions trying ... ... published novel or if it has been abridged, but I would assume it is the same unless it is shown otherwise. The PG copy of Space Viking has no notice explaining why it is not protected by copyright and is in public domain.
The PG version of Uller Uprising is taken completely from the 1983 A ... ... universe and his Terro-Human Future History universe. Although I enjoy the stories in both, two of my favorite stories, Space Viking and Uller Uprising, are part of the Terro-Human Future History. And even though Lord Kalvan of Otherwhen is another favorite of mine, I am a bit of a ... For you Lord Kalvan and Space Vikings fans; Aegypan publishing is redoing Piper's works, including some pretty obscure titles (Murder in the Gunroom etc).
