This romance novel is set in New Orleans two years after Katrina. Having personally experienced many devastating hurricanes, I was worried that this book was going to over or under dramatize a post-hurricane city. Instead, it hits it right on point. There's a realistic variety of loss and rebuilding, which serves as the plot's setting rather than the catalyst.

If you like romance novels, you'll find this one to be a satisfying read. There's a fair amount of drama and complications, the characters are solid with unique voices, and the romantic scenes are straightforward. While the author doesn't waste the readers time with coy innuendos. she also keeps it classy and interesting. ( )
