Daffyd was an extremely popular rock star when his world started to fall apart. At first it was his fear of people and crowds that kept him off the stage and away from crowds, then it was a cancer diagnosis that had him completely retreat from the spotlight and live a reclusive lifestyle. One day on the way home from a day of chemo he spotted a car off to the side of the deserted road and up ahead were two women walking. Knowing the next town was about 50 miles away he had his limo driver stop and give them a ride to his house.
Samantha and her daughter were taking a few weeks of vacation to drive through the American Northwest. They had been to a funeral in Washington state and were driving through the area on their way home. Unfortunately their car broke down and they found themselves stranded on a lonely stretch of road. A limo pulled along side of them and offered them help.
I found this to be an amazing story. The characters are likable and the plot has lots of twists and turns keeping this reader turning the pages long past bedtime! However, there are very heavy religious threads throughout the story which sometimes are a bit to strong and somewhat judgemental. Those areas had a tendency to pull me away from the story and compare those areas to my own Christian beliefs. There are also a lot of errors and typos! The need for better editing, or proofreading really distracts from the reading and enjoyment. However, I did enjoy the book and would recommend it.
