Book description
Maeve Morris, doomed to spend her summer holidays in Kildioma, with relatives and a cousin whose only interests are twittering birds and reading books crammed with of useful facts, feels brain-deadness coming on. Then along come Jamie the boy next door and Fergus, and life goes into high gear. So much so that there is barely time to observe the comings and goings at the nearby abbey, the unexplained lights by night, the sinister group of three who are observed carrying a long, inert, body-sized burden.
