Even novice knitters can get into the act, using nothing more complicated than knit stitches and knit 3 together decreases. The basic idea is simple: the cast-on edge creates two sides of a square, then double decreases at the center of the knitting bends the cast-on edge, creating an approximate 90-degree corner.
