I read and was not overly impressed with Wildwood Dancing, but Cybele's Secret was just so utterly predictable, clichéd, and laughable right from the start that I couldn't finish it. It's a pity. I really liked Marillier's Sevenwaters trilogy. Another (secondhand) recommendation for Darkangel. My daughter really loves it. She also enjoyed Peeps. I just finished Wildwood Dancing, which would fit in your YA Vampire category. I love Terry Pratchett.

So far this month I've read The Ordinary Princess, Fell by David Clement-Davis, Wildwood Dancing, Eye of the Crow by Shane Peacock, Airman by Eoin Colfer, The Lost Queen by Frewin Jones, Dark River, Paint the Wind, Maddigan's Fantasia, and Defect. Now I'm reading Epic. I didn't read all the messages, but I didn't see anyone recomending you Juliet Marillier. I believe she is quite famous in some countries. I should advise anyone to start by reading Daughter of the forest and the other books of the Sevenwaters trilogy as well. It's a long historic beautiful ... littlebookworm, you might like Wildwood Dancing, since you've read (and apparently enjoyed) other books by Juliet Marillier. Right now, I just finished Tithe: a modern faerie tale and Koyal Dark, Mango Sweet, and am started on Time Cat. Feed is on my list, hopefully in time to join the discussion, and I'm also looking ... The YA book I'm currently reading is Wildwood Dancing. It's a retelling of the Twelve Dancing Princesses, with a few other fairy and folk tales integrated into the story. It's a bit predictable, but it's not bad. I like it. ... through a book, and I don't want to risk having to put Potter on hold to finish something.

As far as "pink books" go, Girl of the Moment by Lizabeth Zindel is cute. I've just finished One Whole and Perfect Day and Wildwood Dancing. One Whole and Perfect Day was really good, though the back made it sound like it was going to be a huge romancey thing, but it was more about the interactions of the family with other people (the love interest not making a ... ... the adult books, away from the kids stuff and closer to the sci fi.
Thus far, Un Lun Dun is my favorite. I also liked Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier and Ironside: A Modern Faery's Tale by Holly Black. Finished: The Book Thief & Wildwood Dancing - both really good!
Reading: Slaughterboy by Odo Hirsch (i thought it was slightly disturbing at first, but i am now enjoying it)

I also liked Wildwood Dancing much better than I expected to. I'm not a big fantasy reader, but that one really worked well for me.
