This is a German textbook, so it's not like it's fun reading. That said, however, this is a powerhouse of well, German, quickly. Designed specifically for students needing to learn to translate German, not necessarily speak or write it, it cheerfully jettisons such concerns as excessive vocabulary in favor of giving you the tools you need to tackle a German text and translate it. She shows you how to find the verbs in long, convolutes passages, how to quickly determine what to ignore, what to translate, and how to deconstruct the conjugations in order to determine what to look up in the dictionary.

Absolutely essential if you need to pass a language competency exam, or need to translate written German. ( )
