This was an easy read and fairly good entertainment but I found the characters rather unlikeable - I didn't find myself rooting for them and, indeed, have my doubts that they were really suited to each other! I think that Martin didn't sufficiently create romantic tension and Aunt Phyllis's character annoyed me - I wasn't sure if she was a comic element or just a 'preachy' character. I think Caroline could have been more developed - as it was, she drifted in for a bit in the beginning and then disappeared till the end so I'm not sure what her purpose was. I would read more by this author but probably wouldn't seek out her books. ( )
