Here is a recap of the ten key points:
1. Negative thinking isn't your real problem...believing your negative thinking is!
2. Your body has become conditioned to automatically focus on negatives, thereby making you blind to other valid aspects of reality.
3. Either/or thinking repeatedly gets you into trouble because it sets you up to focus mainly on negatives and discount positives.
4.You can't stop thinking negatively, even if you want to, so you need to let go of this unrealistic pipedream.
5. Nothing negative ever happens in life.
6. Any negatives that appear to be part of life actually come from our internal thoughts, interpretations, and assessments.
7. Your present relationship to your negative thinking is to automatically assume that it is true.
8. The best relationship to have towards your negative thinking is to assume just the opposite -- that much of your negative thinking is wrong or highly distorted.
9. If you are human, you're going to be wrong a good bit of the time. If you are a negative thinker, you are going to be wrong even more, because negative thinking is frequently faulty thinking.
10. One trick to help you challenge and disprove your automatic negative thoughts is to "flip to the opposite reality" and see what you can validate when you look from this perspective. ( )
