I got lucky enough to win an ARC copy of this new book and am so thrilled I did. It is a great second chance story between Dr. Blake Fisher (Brentsville's newest ER Doc) and Jules (Serenity's right hand at Mac's Diner). They are reunited to work on a big charity event for the hospital and it takes no time at all for them both to realize the feelings from the past where alive and flaming.
Everyone will want to grab this one has soon as it is released! ( )

A couple of things you should know first off about this book: don’t read when you’re hungry and have plenty of sweets handy.

Outside the Line is the third book in a novella series by Kimberly Kincaid. While I’ve purchased the other two books, this is the first one I’ve read.

Julianna “Jules’ Shaw is a woman with a dark and troubled past, who is accustomed to taking care of herself. She’s had to since a very young age. Jules is more than she gives herself credit for. Blake Fisher is an ER physician who has recently returned home to his hometown of Brentsville eight years.

Brentsville Hospital is having it’s annual fundraiser. Coordinating the event is usually something Frances Fisher, Blake's mother, handles. This year, instead of the stuffy, black tie event they usually put on, the idea is to make the event more open to the public. Feeling that his mother has too much on her plate, Blake agrees to take over coordinating the event with the caterer. To everyone’s surprise, the caterer contact turns out to be Jules Shaw, Blake’s ex-fiance, the woman who broke his heart.

Sparks fly immediately for these two and they eventually fall back into the role of being a couple. Unfortunately for these two, deep feelings and the past resurface to block the path of future happiness.

While the resolution to the couple’s drama is believeable, I felt the resolution to the drama of other characters to be unrealistic. However, that could also be because that resolution wasn't discussed.

Outside the Line is a story of two people who are destined to be together. It’s the story of realizing that your past doesn’t define who you are as a person. It’s also a story of realizing that when you give yourself all to someone that’s what love is all about.
