Although not one who normally enjoys historical works, this one fascinated me. Today, the news is full of NSA, what they are doing and how detrimental many people their job is everywhere. If one looks, one can probably find similar instances were signals intelligence made a big difference to our national security efforts. People like T. Sgt. Fudenna are the real heroes, though generally going unnoticed. At the time of this event, this service was in its infancy, and people such as this airman and their successes only led to the organization we have today. It is obvious, as the work shows, they can provide our best leg up in the fight against terrorism or any other enemies. I loved the way the author tied T. Sgt. Fudenna’s work and the success of this operation to the recent Seal Team Six raid on ben Laden. If more people knew this story and how successful these efforts can be, more would appreciate people like T. Sgt. Fudenna and the value of signals intelligence. ( )
