Another great read in the Ghost-In-Law series. LOL funny, good plot, some romance and our friendly ghost Helena. ( )

★ ★ ★ 1/2

In the previous book, after Helena found out (and dispatched) the one who murdered her, she made her "ascension"...

Peace at last for Maryse, Sabine, & Mildred, that is until Maryse's cousin Jayden comes to town as the new Game Warden.... Not only does Helena return, but Jayden can see & hear Helena as well which puts everyone on alert as Helena only shows up when someone is in trouble (in extreme danger of losing their life).

Jayden is called to the scene of a bunch of men grabbing baggies of 100 dollar bills out of the bayou from the shrimper that has capsized..... In order to stop the grab (as they are all ignoring her orders), she pulls out her 9mm and shoots the remaining baggies of money so that they all sink to the bottom of the bayou....

While at the money grabbing fest she encounter Mudbug Sheriff Colt Bertrand, a bossy male who tries to take over the case but is (of course) extremely attracted to Jayden.....

There is a grizzly murder of an old shrimper, the finding of a key & the attempted murder of Jayden..... with smart-mouthed Helena keeping Jayden company the entire time.

The only thing different was the romance didn't come to a head with the usual pairing up as it had in the last 3 books. The story wasn't great, I didn't figure out who the bad-guy was, but it was entertaining, fast & easy reading.

Yes, I 'll read the next book in the series, after I get the Library to purchase it! ( )

I wondered how the series would continue once Helena crossed over and now I know. She pissed God off and he kicked her out of the after life. Add in a new character, Maryse's cousin who is the new game warden and throw in gun running and you have Resurrection in Mudbug. It was an enjoyable read. ( )

"Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the bayou... Jadyn St. James is excited to start her job as game warden in Mudbug, Louisiana, and hopes it is the beginning of a new and improved life. She expected to run across any number of odd occurrences in the small bayou town, but she never thought her life would be in danger within a matter of days. And that's not even the worst thing. Helena Henry was hell on wheels--both alive and dead--when she resided in Mudbug, and a year in heaven hasn't improved her one bit. Now, she's back and has brought trouble with her. When it becomes apparent that a major crime is occurring in Mudbug, Colt Bertrand is more than frustrated to be saddled with an inexperienced game warden, especially one who looks like Jadyn. But it soon becomes apparent that they need to put their differences aside if they expect to solve the crime, and more importantly, stay alive."--Provided by publisher.… (more)
