Ken Norton is the twin brother of Jack Norton they are members of the elite Ghostwalkers, both are matchless snipers. Jack has settled down with Briony and now Ken encounters Marigold, Briony's twin sister, on a mission. He captures her and intends to bring her to Briony. However, a lot of things began to go wrong and they realize there are many plots by Dr. Whitney that they have to overcome. Christine Feehan wrote a realistic, true to life story about intense and sometimes dark characters. We don't have to always love them to enjoy and understand them! ( )

This doesn't really read any differently from the other books in the series: a lot of repetition (which seems to be a writing flaw for Feehan), major violence, broken-ish women and/or men... ( )

22/11/07 Seemed like this book must have been part of a series and I saw another review just now mentioning that it is book 5 of the Ghostwalker series. I might read more of the series.

26/07/08 Re-read after reading #4. ( )

I honestly don't like the vampire series she writes but I do enjoy this series occasionally, even if she does undermine the female characters in many ways. Ken Norton has been trained as an assassin and is suffering badly from PTSD. Mari, another one of the ghostwalkers is kidnapped and they're trying to rescue her and deal with the issues they both have, including their budding romance.

Not bad, entertaining stuff, nothing spectacular but a grand read. ( )

The GhostWalker Creed

We are the GhostWalkers, we live in the shadows
The sea, the earth, and the air are our domain
No fallen comrade will be left behind
We are loyalty and honor bound
We are invisible to our enemies
and we destroy them where we find them
We believe in justice and we protect our country
and those unable to protect themselves
What goes unseen, unheard, and unknown
are GhostWalkers
There is honor in the shadows and it is us
We move in complete silence whether
in jungle or desert
We walk among our enemy unseen and unheard
Striking without sound and scatter to the winds
before they have knowledge of our existence
We gather information and wait with endless patience
for that perfect moment to deliver swift justice
We are both merciful and merciless
We are relentless and implacable in our resolve
We are the GhostWalkers and the night is ours
For Val Philips, a treasured friend
who doesn't like alligator ponds with alligators in them
(who would have known?)
or terribly alpha males,
this one's for you.
