MURDER takes the spotlight in Hollywood! William Lennox, man about Movie-town, couldn't say no to the bottle, to women, or even to murder. With the discovery of the dead body of Leon Heyworth, prize glamor boy of the films, this expert, compelling mystery moves into high gear. Just looking around Lennox discovered a lot of other things, including several more corpses, strange gambling dives, and a lot of unexplained mysteries in the lives of the Hollywood great! SAY YES TO MURDER is way up in the chips in the hard-boiled mystery field. W. T. BALLARD, like Dashiell Hammett, Stewart Sterling and others who have produced great mystery fiction, began his career on BLACK MASK. SAY YES TO MURDER is another glowing tribute to the training these men received. Ballard's name can be seen on the covers of all the leading short mystery fiction publications, and in his new creation, Bill Lennox, detective fans have a character whose career they will follow with mounting interest.… (more)

A Hollywood based murder mystery from the 40s. Bill Lennox is a trouble shooter for the head of a big studio. He is also good friends with a older very sick famous actress. The actress’ daughter has a problem—a corpse in her apartment. As a favor he tries to help the daughter out and winds up having to get himself out of even more trouble. A pretty good little mystery.
