Raised by hippies, veterinarian Isadora Wheeler yearns for security, marriage, and fidelity. Her fianc fits comfortably into her plans. When Isadora meets activist lawyer Gabriel DeLuca, who's defending her father on an arson charge, "comfortable" is not the word she'd use. Gabriel awakens her passion and makes her question everything she knows about life-and love. Should she stick to the safe path or does she have the guts to follow her heart? Free on Kindle. Spoilers. The author has a definite style. The story is told is 2nd person by a young woman who was raised in Canada by parents who had left the US to avoid the draft (and maybe legal problems). She has decided she wants to be nothing like them, but then she meets the father of her fiance and her life changes. There is some oddity in the details; I didn't find the characters politically convincing. And the main character is really big on how she is a vegetarian -- but she isn't.
