In this case, each letter of the alphabet has a door and inside is the character that goes with that letter. When the door is opened, the character pops up. The outside of the doors give very broad clues about what is inside. For example, the door for the letter P looks like wood. The character is Pinocchio. I think only older children may pick up on this. Otherwise, there is no text but I can see children spending hours opening these doors to see their favorite characters pop up. Each letter has it's own "card" that you open up to reveal a character whose name starts with the appropriate letter of the alphabet.
