This was fabulous! I was immediately captivated by Trent, Brock, and AJ. The struggles they endured and the amount of love they had for each other that caused Trent to try to keep them safe was strong and apparent in the writing. The author did a great job with this MMM established relationship. My biggest complaint? I would have liked a little more. I would have liked to see some of the real backlash that they endured, and how their relationship progressed and continued as Trent's career picked up. Overall, though, this was a great book. ( )

Just like in a partnership, each man needs to understand the role he plays and how he relates to his "better half", for me, in a ménage, each of the three men needs to contribute to the triad, so the whole is balanced. Why else would you go through the trouble of trying to make three men "fit"? Well, yes, there is the "kink factor", but with all the potential pitfalls of a three-way relationship, that alone does not necessarily guarantee long-term success. In the case of football player Trent, sports reporter Brock, and calm ex-Marine AJ, who have been living as a triad for two years when rumors threaten their careers, it was clear to me how all three men were needed to make a relationship work, and how each contributed to the whole. I loved how they relate to each other, how deeply they are in love, and how they really are into making their somewhat unconventional situation work. As far as I am concerned, this is definitely a great ménage story!

Trent is the man under most of the visible pressure, both external (since he wants to get recruited by the NFL), and from his domineering father. That stress is ultimately what brings things to a head. Brock wants to become a sports reporter, and he'll have to face prejudice as well, once he applies for a job, but the situation is less immediately urgent for him. AJ worries about both of them, but is determined to support them and figure out a way to make it work.

One thing is clear: hiding is not the answer in their case. I loved how Brock and AJ figured out what to do then raced to Brent's side. I cheered them on every step of the way. If you like threesome relationships that go deeper than the purely physical, if you enjoy stories about men who clearly love each other and give the support each man needs and when he requires it, and if you're looking for all that and would like it to be a hot and passionate tale as well, then you will probably enjoy this free short story.

I fucking loved this one!!!

My absolute favorite of the Love Has No Boundaries stories to date. It's a threesome story, told with so much love and devotion and downright passion that I never wanted it to end. Then I hear from Mandy, the one who wrote the prompt that planted the seed for [a:Lexi Ander|6521302|Lexi Ander|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1348158953p2/6521302.jpg] to write this fantastic story, that there are plans to expand on this story in the future. Yippiee! I can't wait!

If you like passionate men showing their physical love, with incredibly strong emotional feelings for one another, involved in a committed relationship between three people, then you will absolutely love and I can highly recommend [b:Playing for keeps|18080636|Playing for keeps|Lexi Ander|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1371459956s/18080636.jpg|25388694]. I can't wait to read it again!! ( )

Really cute, not too much angst (thank you thank you thank you) and not too long. Being a freebie from the Love Has No Boundaries in the m/m romance group here on Goodreads is an added bonus.
There are a lot of stories coming from there right now, and the talent is incredible. Just incredible.

This story was well written, with believable characters, all three of them were relatable and felt genuine. Perhaps they talked more about emotions than I'm used to men doing, but every person in the world is different from the next.

Very nice. A menage is never easy to write about, and I loved that it was an established relationship, and talked about how to KEEP making things work.

This really worked for me. ( )

Book description
College running back, Trent Harte, has been living with his lovers, AJ Barnes and Brock Everett, for two years. Caught in a compromising position, rumors abound. It's hard enough to be an openly gay football player, but gossip and snide comments only adds to his stress. Threats against his partners causes Trent wonder if he should step back from the relationship.

AJ and Brock knows there is something wrong when Trent begins to pull away. A call from Trent's father only adds to the distress. AJ and Brock refuse to let him shoulder the responsibility alone and they call for help. Will Trent find the strength to withstand the pressure and hold on to those he loves? Or will AJ and Brock be too late to convince Trent that they are playing for keeps?

This story was written as a part of the M/M Romance Group's "Love Has No Boundaries" event. Group members were asked to write a story prompt inspired by a photo of their choice. Authors of the group selected a photo and prompt that spoke to them and wrote a short story.
